In the memory of our loved one, Brian 'Blue' Bates who was born on February 6, 1965 and passed away on February 23, 2010 at the age of 45. We will remember him forever. God saw the best in Brian 'Blue' Bates, so did his family. Brian loved the game of football. He played for Paul Robeson High School #45, where he graduated in 1983. He also played semi-pro football as a linebacker, #56 with the Chicago Thunder, he later became an Assistant Defensive Coordinator. He also coached high school football at Morgan Park and Paul Robeson. The game of football was a part of his life. Brian could be found with his trademark toothpick in his mouth, a smile and cap. Brian played a positive role model in a lot of people lives. His family and his friends will treasure his memory forever, until we all meet again. Brian will remain in our hearts. We miss you, so much. Rest in peace 'Blue'.

The man I love / Jennifer Bates (wife)
We met over 15 years ago. I remember like it was yesterday when I first laid eyes on you. I thought to myself, "he's kinda cute"; but I was not looking to get into a serious relationship. I just wanted to hang out wi...

Brian, the man / Jennifer Bates (wife)
Brian had tough skin. He was not intimidated by no one. He did not let a lot of people into his inner circle. He was very protective of his private life and family.
God bless me to see the softer side of Brian. He...

Remembering Brian / Jennifer Bates (Wife)
No matter what I do
No matter what I say.
It is not a day that I don't think of you.
Remembering the good and the bad.
It really doesn't matter what people say or do.
It doesn't change my feelings for you!

"How you Spend Your Dash" / Bates Family (Family)
He noted that first came the date of his birth
and spoke of the following date with tears
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between the years.
For that dash represents all the time

Son, Brother, Father, Husband and Friend Brian was a guy who spoke his mind. You always knew where you stood with him. He had a wry sense of humor. He could always be seen with his trademark toothpick, a smile, shades and cap. He loved the game of football. Brian's daughters love their daddy. They would greet him like a celebrity when he walked through any door or room. They were his little cheerleaders. They enjoyed watching movies, football and other sports with their dad. They were true ''daddy's girls". He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Jennifer; 3 daughters Bria, Jasmine, Jaeline; his mother Hazel 'Sula'; two sisters Madggie 'Yolanda', Bridgette; and three brothers, Chris, Terrell and Clemmie; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will live forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace, dear Brian. |
